Sony VAIO P Series Laptop

Finally, a Sony mini laptop is here, the Sony Vaio P Series. Although not in any way anticipated, an adaptation VIA OpenBook, the Sony Vaio P Series has all the credentials in size and weight than a netbook should have. It weighs a tiny 638g, which is about two-thirds the weight of the original netbook, the Asus Eee PC 701. Like the celestial thin MacBook Air, the P-series is also under 2 cm thick at 19.8mm and only “a little bigger than an on position.”

However, the impressive specs do not stop there …

The LED-backlit display and 8 inches wide in a widescreen format, has a surprisingly high 1600×768 resolution (1024×600 compared to its netbook every day). In that resolution, it is unlikely you will ever need much lateral movement again, since most web pages are not as wide. Battery life is expressed as 4 hours for the standard model, or 8 high capacity battery – enough for a full working day.

My jaw hit the deck when I saw the amount of SSD storage unit is P series offer – up to 128 GB. SSD or solid state storage requires no moving parts and therefore very durable. But it is very expensive to produce a storage facility large SSD has meant most netbooks have been around 16 GB caps. A hard-disk version is also available offering 60GBs storage.

Sony has incorporated some very clever extra features. First, a GPS that does not require Internet access (in the U.S. and Canada – more on this later), Windows Vista – the first time that such a small team and a variety of wireless LAN connectivity options 3G broadband, 802. 11n LAN and Bluetooth so that you are connected wherever there is mobile phone signal.
